A word from Pastor
about the Coronavirus
Updated April 8, 2020
The World Health Organization yesterday declared that the Corona Virus is now "Pandemic"- meaning it is a world-wide concern. No doubt there is a lot of fear and panic out in the culture. We certainly want to take this threat seriously and soberly.
As you know, many organizations are taking precautions, particularly events where thousand of people attend, to help prevent the unnecessary spread of this virus. The current recommended guidelines are to limit groups of people to 10 or less individuals. Due to this, all events and services at the church are cancelled except for a small group for Wednesday evening prayer meeting at 7 p.m. We will, however, be conducting our Sunday morning service via Facebook live each Sunday at 10:30am. Join us here on our website or on Facebook.
The people who are most at risk are elderly people with health issues and anyone with a compromised immune system. Those also at risk are people who have serious chronic medical conditions like:
If you are in any of these categories, no one will think any less of you if you decide not to attend any of our services or if you do attend and keep a distance between yourself and others.
There are simple things everyone can do to reduce the threat from this virus or any virus.
Wash your hands with soap and dry thoroughly and regularly. Our soap dispensers are full.
Use hand sanitizer. We have this available in the foyer.
Avoid blowing your nose, coughing, etc. in public. If you do, use a handkerchief.
Avoid touching your face, nose, eyes, etc
We look forward to worshiping together this Sunday. Be encouraged, our Lord said,"This too shall pass".
He also said, "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
As we have more information, we will share it with you.
