A Message from the Pastor Concerning COVID-19
As you know, there has been an increase of COVID-19 cases across the country and here in Indiana. I need to inform you that one of our members has tested positive for the virus. They only have mild symptoms and is resting at home for 10 more days.
We have been moving along quite well in managing around the virus until now. We want to be sure to exhibit serious caution to ensure the safety of everyone who attends our services. Please be aware that during this pandemic there is a "risk" when you attend church, dine out, go grocery shopping or get together with family. Here is our course of action for the upcoming days:
1- If you were in close contact with anyone with Covid, please be watching for any symptoms no matter how mild. If you are experiencing any flu or cold symptoms you should stay home out of an abundance of caution. If you have age-related health issues or other serious health risks you should play it safe and not attend.
2- We must be more vigilant on Sunday to enter the building with a mask and not remove the mask until you have been seated. You may feel safer wearing the mask at all times, though this is not required. I will be wearing a mask when I enter the sanctuary and when the service concludes as I greet folks. Please try to remain a "physical distance" from others outside of your family by six feet even after the service. We are also not encouraging handshaking. There will be no "mask police"! But please give others an increased assurance by following these procedures. I know some have doubts about the effectiveness of masks but there is no doubt they can help to some degree.
3- To lessen our "foot print of exposure" there will be no Sunday School until December 6 at the earliest. Choir will not practice until further notice. Wednesday Night Services are on break for Thanksgiving and "might" continue on Dec. 2.
To sum it up. These are days of increased risk! Please pray about what your response should be. If you should decide to stay home and watch on Face Book that would be acceptable. I shall see you on Sunday either "ln-person" or "live on Face Book Live"!
